When you look up at the moon, you can see the silhouette of a rabbit making mochi. The legend of how the kind-hearted and self-sacrificing rabbit came to the moon goes back hundreds of years in Asian mythology.
In Japan, they celebrate ‘otsukimi,’ where they traditionally offer tsukimi-dango in hopes of a good harvest.

There's rarely anything as refreshing as an ice cream dessert, and it's a classic – as well as a saying – that there's often a cherry on top. So when a dish doesn't live up to expectations, it's good that there are strong, independent cherries that can finish the job.
